The New Chadstone Opens, So Who’s Settled In?

Chadstone is officially the largest shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere.

At the end of the $660 million redevelopment (aimed to be completed by mid 2017) its size will equate to 10 football fields.

Thursday marked the launch of its refurbishment and it was as packed as you would imagine.  Customers flocked to the centre from as early as 3.00am to visit the new stores, and existing brands whose stores received a makeover.

Here’s a list of some of the new stores which have already moved in:

• Sephora
• Tesla
• The Kooples
• A larger Mecca Maxima
• Furla
• Maje
• Bath and Body Works
• Rebel Sport
• Tommy Hilfiger 
• Topshop

Locals don’t need to drive down to Southland, Brighton or South Yarra to go to the movies anymore. Hoyts is back.

Mr Angus McNaughton, CEO of Vicinity Centres says the food options at a shopping centre is of equal importance as the retail sector.

“Our vision was to create an iconic experience that reflects Melbourne’s reputation as Australia’s dining and entertainment capital,” McNaughton said.

• Royal Stacks
• Sauced Pasta Bar

• Supercharger

• 7 Apples Gelato
• Axil Coffee Roasters
• Doughnut Time
• Little Sparrow
• Lord of the Fries
• NeNe Chicken
• Miss Saigon
• Scroll Ice Cream

Luxury French Patisserie Laudree will also open in late October.

Over the coming months, more luxury stores will join the party, including:

• Kate Spade
• Reiss
• Kit and Ace
• Michael Kors

Chadstone’s shopping hours will be extended until 9pm on Saturdays and 7pm on Sundays.
