Although Melbourne's shopping centres are exploding in size, we advise you not to forget the little guys. After all, they do hold some fine bargains.
Anchored in the middle of Bridge Road's shopping precinct is the Country Road 'Wearhouse'. If you continue to mourn the glorious days of Country Road's warehouse sales, then we have great news for you.
The brand's outlet in Richmond plaza offers incredibly substantial bargains, not only from Country Road, but its younger and posher sister Trenery.
The warehouse plays host to promotions pretty often, but even on less lucky days great bargains can be found– there is always up to 70% off at the outlet.
Packed on the racks is mens, women's and children's clothing. Be prepared, there is an inordinate amount of stock, so you may find yourself lingering in the outlet for a while.
Women's dresses, skirts, shirts, pants and more occupy one side of the outlet, organised by size or style.
Dresses which once sold for up to $300 are now down to as little as $39.95. You can be the proud owner of a formal, work or even beach dress, without having to drain your savings. That also goes for Trenery jackets and coats which are down to $200 from $500.
Activewear is $99 and under, including sports bras, tank tops, skirts, leggings and jackets.
And don't even start us on the shoes. We are struggling to understand how these pairs haven't been snatched up by bargain guzzlers like us. You can leave a proud new owner of a pair of boots, sandals, flats, heels or work shoes.
Heels and sandals are $69.95 and under, while no boots exceed $129.95.
If you venture to the other side of the outlet, you will find mens clothing and shoes.
There's no shortage of suit jackets, which come in a variety of styles. Think jackets which retailed at up to $399, for $99!
Walk around the corner and you'll be greeted by vibrantly patterned board shorts for $50 and below.
There's an abundance of basics as well; t-shirts are $20, while shorts are down to $39.95 and under.
Kids' and baby clothing at Country Road often triggers the clucky buttons. How could it not?!
T-shirts are as little as $9.95, while shoes including sandals and gumboots are $50 and under.
And before you are deterred from Richmond's parking prices, we'll tell you that the first two hours at Richmond Plaza (where the outlet is situated) are free.
This is a reliable inner-city bargain house is well worth a visit.
