Leather, bags, shoes, knitwear and more, at up to 80% off! Here's a wrap of what you can expect.
“As soon as people are let through those doors, that table will be swamped,” a co-worker said to another, signaling at a monstrous table full of jewellery.
She’s talking about (while hurriedly setting up) the Elk Garage Sale, which takes place annually. We headed down to the warehouse for an exclusive sneak peek of what bargains are on offer, over the four-day event.
Everything is up to 80% off including the clothing and accessory brand’s stunning leather bags and wallets.
The walls are lined with Elk’s signature wooden jewellery, grouped into colours– making it even more convenient for shoppers. Necklaces are selling for an amazing $15, bracelets for $5 and rings for $2. This means you can score an entire set of jewellery for under $25, more proof that bargains are vivaciously alive in Melbourne.
Elk’s clothing falls under the radar according to the workers– many people don’t even know that the brand does clothing. The warehouse is filled with beautiful women’s knitwear, in the form of cardigans, jackets and jumpers. Pieces start at $45.
One of the best pick-ups has to be Elk’s charming leather satchels, perfect for work or university– most range from $70 to $80.
And then there's the shoe section of the warehouse– a difficult zone to leave. There is a pair for almost every occassion. You'll find canvas shoes with gorgeous animal prints, ankle boots lace-up brogues, and sandals if you are an early summer shopper. Can't be too prepared for the heat, right?
For those dedicated shoppers who seek a little pre-warehouse kick start, or something to revitalise them after all the shopping is done, coffee will be coffee available on site, on Saturday and Sunday.
The sale starts on Thursday July 14 and runs until Sunday 17. And don’t fret if you can’t make it on the first day– the stock will be constantly reloaded throughout the four days.
